Texture |
The surface quality of an object. Textures are made of incredibly small forms on an objects surface.
Real TextureReal texture is the actual texture of an object in front of you. The real texture of your screen is smooth as is the real texture of a glossy photograph. The real texture of this spoon is generally smooth with the exception of the stamped pattern that provides grip. When thinking of real texture think of real objects.
Implied TextureImplied texture is what an image makes you think it feels like. The implied texture of a photograph depends upon the subject or context of the image. This close up image of tree bark seems to be rough and abrasive, but this is just an illusion as the image actually has the texture of your screen. When thinking of implied texture think of the thought of or representation of objects.
